After you collect your luggage and clear customs you will be met outside the terminal by our local representative who will be holding a sign with your name on it. You will be transferred by van to Arenal, a scenic 3-½ hour drive from San Jose. The road winds through the picturesque little towns of Alajuela province and through rolling green hills of pasture land and coffee plantations. After going through the small town of Fortuna, you will soon have your first glimpse of the perfectly cone-shaped Arenal Volcano, which on a clear day is an unforgettable sight. Located at the foot of the volcano is beautiful Arenal Lake, a 24-mile long reservoir. Your transfer will end at your selected Arenal hotel. Overnight.

Arenal to Manuel Antonio: Day 5

After breakfast (between 8:30 - 9:30 am), transfer by van from Arenal to the Manuel Antonio beach area. The five-hour drive will take you through the misty hills of Monteverde to the lowlands of the North Pacific, the driest region in the country. Here, you will see large cattle ranches. Continue to the coast to your selected beach resort in Manuel Antonio. Famous for its pristine beaches, Manuel Antonio is surrounded by tropical rainforest and possesses options for all kinds of travelers. The national park beckons with a wide variety of flora and fauna, including squirrel monkeys.

Manuel Antonio: Day 6

One of the most pristine rivers in the country! The Savegre River, one of the most pristine rivers in the country and surrounded by lush vegetation and meandering waters, features class II and III rapids that are perfect for beginner rafters. Stopping along the way for great swimming spots and breathtaking waterfalls. On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the tropical rain forest. Towards the end of the trip, the group will stop and have lunch at the little village of Silencio before enjoying a comfortable drive back to the hotel.

Manuel Antonio: Day 7

Embark on a captivating journey through one of Costa Rica's most exquisite National Parks, led by an experienced nature guide. Covering 683 hectares, this compact park offers an abundance of natural wonders, from lush rainforests to pristine beaches and thriving coral reefs.
